Rafael Wlodarski - Portrait

born in poland, raised in melbourne, and currently living somewhere between tanzania, london and san francisco, rafael wlodarski feels at home pretty much anywhere his luggage is unpacked.

rafael’s had a hankerin’ to travel and explore the world since he could crawl. after completing degrees in business marketing and post-grad research in psychology, he set off on a six-month around-the-world trip. it’s been ten years, 60 countries, four passports - and he has yet to come home.

rafael spent most of his twenties dragging his luggage overland through the middle-east, southeast asia, the indian sub-continent, north & south america and europe. during his travels he discovered a fondness for the dustier, more far-flung corners of the globe and developed the lofty goal of trying to taste each of this earth’s wonderful creatures. armed with more travel tales than either friends or family could handle, rafael’s foray into travel writing, blogging and travel advice seemed like an obvious progression in an otherwise uncharted career path.

rafael has written articles for newspapers, magazines and books. his work for lonely planet guidebooks includes updates for the southeast asia on a shoestring guide, thailand’s islands and beaches, peru, egypt, the middle-east and several editions  of the india guide.
